Peer Review Meritorious Performer Program

The Peer Review Meritorious Performer Program recognizes facilities that excel in management practices focusing on six performance areas:
  • Customer relations
  • Staff orientation and development
  • Risk management
  • Staff empowerment
  • Community relations
  • Quality of life

Long-term care facilities choose to participate in the program. The NCHCFA Standards and Ethics Committee oversees a rigorous review process which evaluates facility performance through facility reports and site visits by trained peer reviewers.

Facilities that score in the 90% or above are recognized as a NCHCFA Peer Review Meritorious Performer.

A Meritorious Performer is eligible for renewal every two years. If a score falls below 90, facilities may request another review in six months.
