NCHCFA is a non-profit trade association governed by a 16-member Board of Directors. Officers and members of the Board are elected bi-annually and represent the various geographic regions of our state as well as the various ownership categories. The Board of Directors is responsible for establishing and monitoring NCHCFA policy.
NCHCFA committees monitor developments in long-term care and recommend action or positions with short- and long-range effects for NCHCFA membership. Committees with ongoing responsibilities include the Council on Provider Relations, Education and Programs, and Payment for Services. Committees focused on internal association business are Budget and Finance, Constitution and Bylaws, Research Data and Planning, and Standards and Ethics.
NCHCFA is a member of the American Health Care Association and works with other professional organizations, associations and consumer groups. This relationship strengthens NCHCFA's effectiveness and enhances long-term care's role in the health care community.
